Refinery Laser Cloud DB

Overseas Project

Scope

This project was undertaken on a refinery plant in North Africa. The total area covered was 70m x 100m plan and several high rise vessel/columns. The deliverable for this project is a registered Laser Cloud Database, considered to be the true as-built documentation by the client. As can be seen from the bubble views, both large open areas and highly congested areas are easily covered using the same Laser Scan technology.

Refinery laser cloud DB

Benefits

This project is allowing the client to asset manage their plant without the need for a very expensive 3D model. The plant data is accessed via the cloud bubble view option. The bubble view is a “Photographic like” interpretation of the laser scan intensity cloud. Any new plant items can be viewed in this bubble view and clash checking undertaken without the need for a model.
