Scope

This offshore platform required the life boats and support davits to be inspected and overhauled. The life boats would need to be removed from the existing davits and safely stored at an adjacent location. Following the inspection work and overhaul of the davits the life boats were to be returned to the launch position. Whilst the life boat was out of commission the POB had to be reduced for safety reasons and the platforms operations were reduced to suit.

Benefits

A visual database was prepared and issued to the client. Using this database the client clearly defined the dimensions required. A selective 3D model covering exactly what the client required was created and constructability studies undertaken. The client was able to detail the design, maintenance and planning requirements without having the cost of sending a team of engineers to the platform.
