Digital Photogrammetry for pipe modification

Scope

This project required a fairly simple clash free 3D route check for a pipe modification involving both Digital Photogrammetry and Standard Infra Red (IR) Dimensional Control.

The Digital Photogrammetry was undertaken so that if a clash was found during the detailing of the IR data a clash free route using the images could readily be established. (Photo insurance).

Benefits

The client achieved a clash free route using this technology reducing both plant outage and rework costs. The fabricated spools were checked and corrections made prior to installation.
